Dr. Anthony W. Tanona

Licensed Clinical Psychologist 

Anthony W. Tanona, Psy.D. is the Executive Director of Jupiter Psychological Group; serving Jupiter, Tequesta and South Florida.  He also serves as the director of Delta Psychological Group in Aventura, Flroida.  He is a Jupiter Psychologist who provides Individual, Family, and Couples Psychotherapy, in addition to Psychological Testing, to children, adolescents, and adults.  Dr. Tanona has significant experience providing counseling for ADHD, depression, anxiety, coping with divorce, oppositional and defiant behaviors, and anger management.  He works to help improve problematic symptoms, enhance interpersonal relationships, and decrease disruptive behaviors and conflict.  Dr. Tanona also completes Psychological Assessments for ADHD, school evaluations, learning disabilities, gifted evaluations, autism, and psychological/emotional concerns.  

Dr. Tanona has extensive clinical experience and has provided Psychotherapy and Psychological Testing to children and adolescents in Dade and Broward schools, hospitals, and treatment centers.  He has been in private practice for over ten years and was previously the Clinical Coordinator of the Residential Intensive Treatment Services (R.I.T.S.) Program at Citrus Health Network in Miami, Florida.  In recognition of his commitment to the community and the field of Psychology, he was awarded the 2010 Early Contributions to Psychology Award from the Florida Psychological Association and the 2002 Young Clinician Award by the Broward County Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association.

Dr. Tanona and has lived and worked in South Florida for 20 years and has taken an active role in the community. He has volunteered in local organizations, including the Plantation Police Department and Covenant House.  Dr. Tanona has served as the Membership Chairman and the Early Career Psychology Representative for the Florida Psychological Association along with being a member of the American Psychological Association.  He was an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University and has presented at the National APA Convention and the Statewide FPA Convention.  Dr. Tanona completed his undergraduate education at Michigan State University and earned his doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University.
